Emma + Stefan - Downtown Atlanta Wedding

This wedding was a personal joy for me to shoot. Emma and Stefan were neighbors in my Atlanta loft for a few years, before I moved to L.A., and I've missed their company often. Emma is the embodiment of class and grace, and I don't think I've ever hung out with Stefan where he didn't have me in stitches. When they called and said they'd finally decided to tie the knot, and would I be willing to fly back to Atlanta to shoot them, the answer was a resounding HELL YEAH!

Their wedding / reception was held at one of my favorite art galleries in Atlanta's Castleberry Hill historic district, called The Granite Room. Small, personal, fun, with food trucks to boot!

The song is "Ooh La La" by The Faces. Buy it here: amzn.com/B001PIF7VI

A Boston wedding in the fall, with both western and chinese elements to the day, in the country, and in the city. Talk about a whirlwind day!! Congrats to the both of you!

Nicole + Jens: A London Wedding Video on the Thames

Nicole is from California.  Jens is from Germany.  They picked London as the best place to host a wedding for friends and family from all over the world.  On a boat. On the Thames.  At sunset....  Without a doubt, one of the most picturesque weddings I have ever attended.  And what made this even more spectacular was that the weather cooperated fully, with nary a cloud in the sky! Add a gathering of friends and family in fun & fancy hats and you get... "Nicole+Jens"!

Gudrun+Todd - Giraffes & Cameras

Atlanta weddings in the summer are hot... UNLESS you think ahead and stage the whole wedding indoors, in a beautiful Southern mansion no less... It was a beautiful affair, and one that I won't soon forget. Giraffes everywhere, ladies in Chuck Taylors, more photographers than you could shake a stick at, beautiful natural lighting and a serendipitous interactive art display we got to use (the word blocks...).

The song is "4evermore (feat. Algebra)" by Anthony David. You can purchase the song here: amzn.com/B0056AQC7E

Seema + Shayan - Non-Traditional Videos Of A Traditional Indian Wedding.

Seema and Shayan approached me at the end of last year about doing videos (yes, plural) of their wedding.  Their wedding would be a traditional Indian wedding ceremony, but they wanted non-traditional videos that would recap their day.  This sounded like an amazing opportunity.  Not only was the day to be full of traditional cermony, customs, dress, and food, but the sheer size of the wedding was impressive.  It turned out to be an amazing experience for my whole team.

Many thanks to my whole team, as this was a team effort.  Thanks to Eric De Fino (videographer), Nick Jones (videographer), Lauren De La Crox (photographer), Tress Ritter (photographer), & Ashley Legg-Sotomayor (photographer).

Seema + Shayan - Part 1

This is the first half of Seema & Shayan's video celebrating their traditional Indian marriage ceremony. Why two videos? Simple. There is so much that happens as part of the wedding ceremony, and there are sooo many family members and guests who attend, one video just didn't seem like enough.

The song you're hearing is "Real Love" by Delorean. It's probably not what you'd expect in the music for an Indian wedding, but I think it's beautifully matched... Buy their music on Amazon here: t.co/V7ZoR0P

Seema + Shayan - Part 2

Part II of Seema and Shayan's wedding day is all about their reception. And a bit of goofing off in the park.

The song is "Where I'm Going" by Cut Copy. Buy it here: t.co/kowoPgK

JONATAN + MARIA - THE "ELOPE TO NYC" WEDDING VIDEO!

I've been really blessed to work some amazing, impressive people.  Jonatan and Maria TOTALLY keep that streak alive! This video started with an email, "Me and my bride to be are going to elope to NYC from Sweden to get married." I read that first sentence and all I could think to respond was YES in ALL CAPS to express how SUPER EXCITED I WOULD BE TO DO THAT!! Of course, I think I held back a bit, and responded more tactfully than that.

This video was an interesting project as well, since I wouldn't be able to fly with Jonatan and Maria on their journey from Sweden to NYC.  So instead, I directed them from afar, and asked them to shoot those scenes and vignettes that I couldn't be there to shoot myself.  Kudos to them both for doing such an amazing job! The footage at the start of the video was done by them both!

Lastly, and this is more personal I suppose, but I want to thank both Jon and Maria for inviting me along on what was a very private, supremely romantic, adventure.  They couldn't have been nicer and more willing to collaborate with me, even when it meant hours walking around in the icy winter NYC air!

Enjoy!

The song is "Little Bit" by Lykke Li (a Swedish artist) and you should go buy her record here: http://amzn.com/B001MJKUTY

Samantha + Andrew - The Wedding Video!

This is a wedding video unlike any other.  Because the wedding itself was unlike any other I've been invited to document.  Samantha and Andrew had arranged a surprise courthouse wedding!  They told their parents they were meeting up for family portraits, and instead marched them over to the courthouse for a beautiful snowy winter wedding!  My job was to document their special day, which included goofing around their apartment, watching them play Wii, Dungeons and Dragons, War Hammer, dressing up, etc....  Like I said -- a wedding day unlike any other in it's AWESOMENESS, GEEKINESS, AND ROMANTICISM!

Lauren + JP - The Wedding Video!

Lauren + JP from Matt Odom on Vimeo.

I'm so pleased to post my first wedding music video!  Lauren and JP were amazing collaborators!  Their artistic sensibilities are wide ranging, and they immediately grasped the concept of what I wanted to, which was to create a music video more-so than a wedding video.  Granted, the subject matter is their wedding.  It's simply cut to one of their favorite songs ever.  (Sleepyhead by Passion Pit).

I'd love to know what you think!
